“And I can help you with that.” I looked up at her. “How?” Jessica reached into her bag and pulled out a book, the leather cover is faded and old. “After Yara hid me in the temple, I found this in the High Priestess’s chambers. I took it with me when I ran because I thought it might be important.” She handed it to me and I opened it carefully, seeing pages covered in a handwriting I don’t understand. “What is it?” “It’s your mother’s book” Jessica said. “It covers everything you need to know. Your mother would have used this when she was learning, and it should work for you too since you have her bloodline.”

Now I just had to figure out how to pull it off without pissing off Jackson in the process. Footsteps creaked down the stairs. “You’re fidgeting,” Jessa said, appearing at the bottom step in leggings and a loose sweatshirt. Her damp hair was pulled back, and she looked ten times better than yesterday — not fixed, not fine, but like she’d finally taken a deep breath. “Not fidgeting,” I said, straightening. “Thinking.” “That sounds dangerous.” “Usually is.” Jessa grabbed her sneakers from beside the couch, sitting down to tie them. “What are we doing today anyway? You texted me like it was an emergency.”

“I love you, Jessica… so much. So much it kills me every second to accept you’re my sister. But even if loving you is wrong, let me die with you. Let me be with you.” “I can’t live without you.” And I jumped. Cold. Deep. Silent. But for the first time, I smiled. Because finally… I was on my way to her. The water pulled me down. Heavy. Endless. I had been busy with work at Monet's and my book at home, but they still managed to make sure I was involved in every conversation that was being brought up. Jessica is officially a published author. Her science fiction novel is out everywhere and she had given her family, her girlfriends (and Chris of course) new copies of her book for free. We were all so happy for her, it was like seeing your sister successful. "If I'm successful we're all successful." She said and a group of awws were exchanged and we hugged each other. We forced Chris to join us and he did.

I haven't met many girls named Charlie" She laughed, very deep and hearty "Yes, Charlie. I still don't understand why people think a girl can't be called that " I shrugged and took her hand "Jessica Underwood ". How I hate being called Jessica! Whatever happened to Jessie, Jess? Grandma seemed to think being called Jess was against the good girl book. "I hope we are going to be cool roommates. My other roommates were a pain in the ass " she looked through my schedule again " and I can see we are sharing the same classes for this session! ".

One of the traps was tripped, but the clever fox got away. After offering a few suggestions on how to lure the fox into the trap and keep him there, Eliza made her excuses and headed off to bed. As she hopped into the shower to quickly wash off the day’s sweat and grime, she said a brief prayer to whoever was watching out for her that she’d wake up in her own bed and wearing her pajamas in the morning

Squinting her eyes then tapping the table. “A year passed like hundreds. Not looking back with my own luggage, smiling I may seem but I burn with something more than nothing. I should have left them a goodbye gift, a literal one –” She stopped with her eyes open wide and leaned back a bit. Sighing as she comfortably leans back and stares at the ceiling when the sheets are flipping back onto the first page. Despite hearing it, Jessica did not care. ‘That’s just a speck of his story. But –’ She thought to herself before her head turned to look at the boxes of it left to read. The books she read are piling up on her desk, that the ice on her drink melted and the warm food turned cold.

-Milo I smile after seeing that note and it truly made me smile. It was something I wanted to look forward to. There was a different kind of books in here which was labeled by the guys’ name on who gave them. It was truly touching. Days went by and I had a lot of adjusting in the facility. My nurse, Jessie, was incredibly sweet and a talker too. She tells me stories about her family and why she thinks that the patient in here is so strong for admitting themselves here. She inspires me every day with different Bible saying and how I should need to be closer to God.

“Believe what you want. But the truth is out, Jessica. And soon, everyone else will know too. The shareholders, the board, the press—they’ll all see you for the fraud you are.” Jessica slammed the file shut, her eyes blazing as she glared at him. “You’re desperate, Nelson. You’ve tried everything else, and now you’re resorting to lies. But let me make one thing clear—I’m not going anywhere. This empire is mine, and I will fight for it.” Nelson stood, leaning across the table with a sneer. “You think you’re untouchable, don’t you? But the truth always finds a way out. You’re not a Carter, Jessica. You never were.”
