“Good talk.” Chris walked into the conference room. He finally had the spare time to sit down and listen to the message left after the end of the world. The room was silent with the exception of the air circulation system running. The small black hologram projector sat in the middle of the table in anticipation that it would be used once again.

The message preview contained only three words. We need to talk.

Christian sends me home around midnight. We agree to go out again next Sunday since he's leaving tomorrow afternoon to attend a conference in Vegas for one week. [ Lemme know if you aren't so lucky tonight. ] I only notice Luca's text message after I've showered and worn my pyjamas. It was sent two hours ago, most probably when I was chatting with Christian at the bar hence not realising the incoming text. Too lazy to type my reply, I hit the last number on my speed dial while getting comfortable on the bed, covering myself from neck to toe with the duvet.

The chairman doesn't consider Christian as part of the Blackwood family any more. Christian was quiet a long moment, then he nodded. When he spoke, his voice came from a broken, hollow place. “I see what you mean.” A pause. “You'll find out the truth soon enough, anyway. And gladly, I won't be here to say, ‘told you so’.” Without another word, he placed firm hands on the wheelchair handle and pushed me out of the house. At this point I was utterly drained and at a loss for words, or what next to do. Defeat and fear collided against each other in my chest, stealing my breath.

“ Kind of” “ Great. Now, even if you do not know everything about the passion, at least you know that it was how Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross of Calvary for our sake”, I shifted closer to him, “ now, let me tell you something else. Jesus loves you just the way you are; exactly just the way you are. You know that song by Bruno Mars right, you are amazing just the way you are”, I sang funnily and he smiled a little, “ Jesus is singing that same song for you, and that is because he cherishes you, and you being gay doesn't change that fact”.

Christian cried. "Chrissy, it's going to be okay..." "No, no, no it's not! G-Gabe, I can't do this without you! P-Please, please don't leave me..." Christain pleaded. "Come here, Chris," Gabe whispered making Christian walk toward him and fall into his open arms. Christian wept and screamed at the loss he was feeling. He'd lost his team, his father and now he had to watch as his brother stood at death's door, "Chris, it will be okay, I promise, but you need to go, the air support will be here soon and it'll be better if you moved away from here."

"Well I just got rejected by a potential client, I mean why would they cancel on us at the dying minute " " Oh , this things happen , you should relax bro , you work really hard , everyone around you knows that , LLB is where it is right now because of you , so I think they've got other reasons for cancelling " Christian said "Who knows you could be this serious, well thanks but don't try to make me feel better chris" I complained "Well then , get drunk, stay in doors and fast from women " he replied with a suppressed laughter "This is not funny , if you have nothing to say , just shut up already, by the way I always appreciate silence" I scolded

It’s only a speculation for now. Beneath the headline is an unclear picture of us standing right outside the small old church; Christian’s hands cradling my head. I don't know how I always forget that Christian is a man with a spotlight on him, and this was bound to happen anyway. I suck in a deep breath, exiting my browser to my message app. 'I'll explain when I return. We can't have this conversation over the phone.' I type back and send.
