I made a snide comment. "We don't need to use any torture methods on you; we've already acquired a means to contact him. Did Jack mention Dr. Mark Bowen by any chance?" My face was probably as white as a sheet because Ezra grinned. "Jack is smart, I'll give him that much but he's also a human being like anyone of us and humans are bound to get exhausted when they reach their limits. In Jack's case, there was a minor slip up. I smiled a little as Cornelius apologized for him then left the table after him. A few minutes later they both returned to the table in good spirits as Delphina and a maid started to serve dinner. “I am sorry. I forgot the rule about no business talk at the table. Please forgive me.” I nodded at him and so did Jensen who was just sitting next to me with his arms crossed staring at Felix. I placed my hand on his leg under the table and he looked down at me. I mouthed to him to behave and he started to calm down. I don’t know why he was upset, maybe he felt it was disrespectful the way Felix acted. I didn’t ask and he was already calmed so we enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere became peacef

The chain was adjustable, allowing Aqua to wear the pendant at just the right length so that it rested over her heart. As she wore it, Aqua noticed the stone's clarity, reflecting her calm and balanced state of mind. Whenever she felt at peace, the pendant remained clear and pristine. However, when her emotions stirred, the pendant would change. A slight hue of blue appeared when she felt sadness, while a warm golden tone emerged during moments of happiness. If anger or fear took hold of her, the gemstone would darken, turning a deep, unsettling black.

Beaming. "I'm swooning over you guys." Angela chirped fist bumping Lennox. She let out a low warning growl when Hunter flicked her forehead for fun and it f*cking hurt. "Wanna die?" She gritted as his brows shot up. "The f*ck you teaching her?" Hunter glared at Lennox who seemed indifferent and was focused on his gorgeous wife conversing with Silvia, Emma, Aurora, and Catherine. I stepped entirely inside his guard, grabbed the lapels of his pristine white silk suit, and drove my forehead directly into the bridge of his nose. Bone crunched. Kaelen cried out, dropping the plasma blade as blood poured down his face. I swept his legs out from under him, sending him crashing hard onto the marble. I grabbed him by the collar and began dragging his limp weight back toward the central transit hub. "Jinx! Do it!" I screamed. "I need ten seconds!" Jinx yelled back. She was entirely exposed, standing at the control pedestal on the metal platform, frantically ripping wires out of the console and splicing them together with her bare hands.
