Frank threatened through his clenched teeth, gun pointed at Sarah’s head again, but she didn’t give a damn. This had to stop. She had to stop him. She mustn’t let him hurt Luke more than he already did. That’s why as soon as she noticed Frank’s finger squeezing the trigger, Sarah threw herself forward, aiming for the gun. She was now faster and stronger than before, no doubt; that’s why she managed to redirect the bullet trajectory and direct it to the sky. A loud bang followed the fired bullet, and Sarah snatched the gun from Frank and aimed it back at him.

Armed with these weapons, the two of them had flown off into the night, leaping off the parapets of the Cloisters to the protests of her coven members, and heading south, speeding through the night. They flew over 150th street, then 140th, and as they went, Caitlin looked down and remembered. Her old neighborhood. She shuddered at the thought of it. ‎ ‎"Let him drink!" ‎ ‎I forced the blood past Jinx’s lips. ‎ ‎For a second, nothing happened. ‎ ‎Then, Jinx convulsed. He swallowed. ‎ ‎The effect was instantaneous. ‎ ‎Where my blood touched his lips, the black veins seemed to recoil. The color rushed back into his cheeks. He gasped, taking a huge, ragged breath of air. ‎ ‎The black lines on his arms stopped advancing. They didn't disappear, but they stopped. ‎

For a few seconds, neither of them spoke, as though they were silently reading each other’s minds. “Nah, I don’t think so,” Jerry finally said, shaking his head. “I’m not sure they would go that low.” “Yeah, that’s true.” Vance slowly nodded. “Elder Jonathan would never want to kill me or anything. If anything, he enjoys the power my presence gives him.” He resumed pacing, but his steps were slower this time. “But how?” Vance muttered, his voice filled with confusion. “How did Zee get a banned herb in a world she knew nothing about?”

I still have to leave this town because I just know that I can't find the peace I need to live with my curse if I stay here. A new, totally different environment is what I need and what I intend to get from Georgia. It's calm, quiet, serene and the best place for a calm restart or in my case the best place to understand and accept myself for what I am-JINXED. As she stated, mom made some calls, pulled some strings and now I own a well-furnished apartment, a really cool job-considering I've only just completed High School. She was gonna get me a car too but I completely rejected that.

His fingers brushed her cheek. “What’s wrong?” “I can’t believe I forgot to ask about Stephen. Have you heard from him?” Rhye snorted, lowering his head to sprinkle light, tormenting kisses over her face and down the line of her throat. “That’s a story for later.” He easily evaded her question and set about distracting her with delicious strokes of his tongue that were leading lower and lower. She tried to hang onto a shred of sanity. “But…” “Later, little one.” He tugged her legs apart and smiled with wicked intent. “Much later.” And it was. End of Book One

The words slipped out of me before I could stop them and instead of getting offended or calling me out on it for insulting their Alpha, she smiled and stood up. “I’m Jinx.” She shakes her head, making her pixie haircut bounce slightly, I found myself staring at it. But suddenly, she was retreating, putting some distance between us. I didn’t need to turn around to know Killian was standing directly behind me, hovering over me like some demonic shadow.
