It bumped against the pier with a hollow thud. Jinx didn't wait for the gangplank. She vaulted over the railing, landing on the concrete. She looked awful. Her tactical gear was shredded, her face was gaunt, and her left arm was in a sling. But she was grinning. "You guys are hard to find," she rasped, walking toward us. "I had to bribe three smugglers and a parrot just to get the coordinates to this rock." "You're late," Ashren said, crossing his arms. But I saw the relief in his posture.

‎ ‎All eyes turned to the corner, where Jinx was sitting on a barrel, eating an apple. ‎ ‎Jinx froze. He looked at the map. He looked at the narrow shaft. ‎ ‎"I can fit," he said, swallowing a bite of apple. ‎ ‎"Jinx, no," I said instinctively. "He's a child." ‎ ‎"He's a rogue," Kaelen corrected gently. "And he's the best climber we have. Jinx, if you get in that shaft, you can drop down into the server room and cut the lasers. Can you do that?"

Jinx wasn't in danger yet but if he didn't show in the next minute or so the healer might have to get proactive.
