Xavier’s eyes flicked toward Hunter, a brief, silent exchange before he gestured toward the chair across from him. I walked closer, slow, deliberate. Not submissive, not threatening. Just enough to remind them I didn’t belong to their hierarchy. Just enough to remind them that I would now bow to any of them.
When I sat, I crossed one leg over the other, smoothing the fabric of my black trousers. I could feel their curiosity like heat, pressing for answers I wasn’t ready to give.
