Adrian leaned back slightly, arms crossed. “You’re saying— is that why you smell like....”
“I’m saying a vampire, a vampire .... general was walking around in the sun!” I snapped. “He wasn’t burning to ashes, Adrian. Not instantly. Just a few blisters, smoke, but he was moving ... fighting ...alive.”
The silence that followed was thick. Only the faint hum of the air conditioning filled the room. Then Adrian stood, slow and deliberate,
