Annoyance is clear in Gianna's voice. Raising my head, I look at her, feeling confused about how she knows what I am thinking. "I know you are blaming yourself, so please, stop blaming yourself because whatever happened, none of it was your fault." She glares at me, and then pulling herself up, she rests her back against the headrest of the bed. "John's father died because of me." I begin to speak, but she cuts me off. "For the fuck's sake, he died because his time was up!" She growls, "And John died because he was a low-lying scumbag who betrayed us."

She was worried that if John himself met the man, then maybe the man would hurt Glen. Glen looks fine. He now looked at John with a look of astonishment. He didn't know that the man he now saw was the husband of the girl he had abused.

The finality in those three words was a killing blow. Ian turned and walked toward the guest bedroom without a single look back, leaving Zhedya standing alone in the cavernous, silent room. John sighed. Throwing a glance at the man standing behind Christian, he said, “Just a mistake, sir. I got into a fight and they attacked my head.” Hearing him, Christian nodded in understanding. He was not convinced at all. He felt like John was hiding something. And due to his wife’s presence around, Christian decided not to dig further. She already looked worried.

From the very first glance, the novel has intrigued her. Green laughed at herself, her past was not beautiful, she had a lot of bad memories, and to get to this point it was not easy for her. The gratitude she had expressed to herself was a form of appreciation for her enduring to this day.
