Who would dare to get on your nerves” Conner was panicking and I chuckled. “Why are you fretting?” I chuckled and he shook his head. “It’s never good news when you see someone, I’m sure that person must’ve done something terrible” Conner suggested.

The tension in the air tightened more and more until even breathing became difficult. Jane felt a drop of sweat slide slowly from the corner of her forehead. Her eyes trembled with dread while her heartbeat pounded louder against her chest. Finally, she opened her tightly shut eyes and looked straight toward Victor even though his blind eyes couldn't see her in return. "It's the Joker." She whispered the words as softly as possible near his ear, the sound barely leaving her lips as she knew vampires possessed hearing far sharper than humans. And after saying what she believed would be the safer choice, she slowly stepped backward.

He couldn't understand his brother's train of thoughts. " I know. But being scared is the higher level of being afraid." Jax said again. What the-? Jace stifled a laugh. If it weren't for the severity of the situation, he would have been rolling on the ground in laughter.

I’m deliberate.” He searched my face like he always did when he thought I was withholding. “What scares you?” he asked. I didn’t look away. “Losing the part of you that laughs in this room,” I said honestly. “Not the Alpha. You.” The vulnerability in his expression was brief—but real.

“Stop being a fucking coward.” Joker’s face hardened. His ice-blue eyes looked even more white and deadly than usual. He placed both hands on my chest, pushing me backward. “You don’t know shit! Shut the fuck up and get out!” He pointed to the door, and the rest of his body looked visibly shaking.

The thugs laughed out loud right then, though their smiles stiffened when they saw a blur shooting out of the shack, seizing the joker by the neck and lifting him into the air! "Who the fuck are you?! Mind your own business!" one of the thugs snapped as he threw a punch at the blur, since they had numbers on their side! Bang! Nonetheless, he was sent flying and slamming on the wall the next instant, leaving everyone dumbstruck for a moment. They all scattered and ran without hesitation right then—that was beyond scary! Meanwhile, the joker whom Frank was still holding cried, "Please, friend! We're just following orders… Can't we all just talk about this?"

He looked down at his hands, I had never seen Judah embarrassed before. "Oh please, it's nothing to be ashamed of, everyone has something that they're scared of that doesn't seem like a big deal to others. Like I'm scared of clowns, I can not stand the sight of them. I'll cry if I get close to a clown." I scrunched my face up to look disgusted and Judah chuckled. "See, it's perfectly normal. Let's just go home, we've been on enough rides for one night." He looked skeptical, " Are you sure, if you really want to go on the rollercoaster, I could wait for you down here."

It suddenly occurred to her that she still had a long way to go when she remembered that she was going to become the personal stripper of the owner of this club, who appeared to be feared by all and looked dangerous. Though he was handsome, tall, and had broad shoulders, his looks were usually fierce and scary. "What's going to happen to me, what am I going to do? Who is going to save me from this mess?" She asked no one but herself. "Nobody, girl, just do as you are told and you will survive here." Her bunkmate said, stretching out her head to look at Jessica. Scream Jessica screamed out in fright, never having thought that anyone would be awake, not to mention getting an unexpected reply.
