his friend began, but Damian cut him off. "Yes, I'll step in as the DJ tonight. I'll be the DJ for just one night," Damian declared. "But you don't know how to DJ," his friend protested. Before his friend could utter another word, Damian had already made his way to the DJ booth, skillfully mixing songs to the delight of everyone present.

Damien cleared his throat, scanning the room with a grin that was equal parts charming and terrifying. “Good evening, everyone. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Damien. The younger, better-looking, significantly more fun Grayson brother.” More laughter. I rolled my eyes, but I didn’t stop him. “I’ve known Alexander my whole life,” Damien continued, pacing the stage. “And for most of that life, I assumed he was a robot built by our father to destroy the stock market. He didn’t smile. He didn’t sleep. He once fired me from an internship because I brought him the wrong kind of sparkling water. It was ‘too effervescent,’ apparently.”

I rubbed my hands together looked at her straight in the eye, and noticed how puffy they were, maybe there was trouble in paradise after all. “I have some bad news for you this morning.” I began. She stopped what she was doing and looked at me. “What is it?” She asked. “Damien called in sick this morning.” “Oh? That is so terrible, what's wrong with him?” she seemed genuine enough. “Not sure yet. But I told him to go see a doctor and spend some time recuperating at home.” The lies were easier than I had thought. “I hope he gets better. So who's going to go with me to school, I have an early lecture this morning.” her brows creased in confusion.

He was a man who had an intention - no beating around the bush and it was a breath of fresh air. I smirked. "I was yours the minute I laid my eyes on you. Name." I always felt a connection to Dane, a sense of understanding and trust that went beyond words.
