Novel & Cerita Journal For Books Read

It felt like she was still here with me, in this room, and for a moment, I forgot about everything else. I heaved a heavy sigh and turned around, but something caught my attention on her bookshelf. There, nestled between the works of Jane Austen, was a small leather-bound journal that I had never seen before. I picked it up, feeling its soft cover under my fingertips and carefully flipping through the pages. As I read her delicate handwriting, my heart ached with both joy and sadness. This journal was a window into her thoughts, her feelings, her dreams. It was like a piece of her that I had never known before.

I set them aside for later. Then I reached deeper into the bag and pulled out the books I hadn’t recognized. Several of them were small, leather-bound volumes. Journals. I flipped open the first one and saw pages filled with my mother’s neat handwriting. My breath caught. I closed it gently and placed the journals beside my bed. I would read them later. When my head wasn’t spinning quite so much. There were two larger books left. The first one was heavy. Very heavy. The moment I lifted it, something strange happened.

Please tell Alice that I will be missing the training today because there is something important that I need to attend to. ‘You sure you’re okay?’ She asked again; this time her voice was filled with concern. ‘Yes,’ I replied, and this time she accepted it. I stood from the reclining chair and looked around the shelves. Most of the shelves were filled with different books, mostly fiction, but some rare academic books were no longer in print. I continued to look for the other journals, but couldn’t find any. I was about to give up and try again another day, when I saw a book that seemed misplaced because it was placed upside down, and one of the words on the title was misspelled.

Amazing, what is a better way to distract yourself than reading some dark romance books filled with smut. I got in the library and instantly felt a bit calm. Grabbing my favourite four books I got seated in a cosy comfortable corner, and started reading. An hour later I closed the fourth book in my hands as I groaned frustratingly. For god sake what's wrong with me? I couldn't even read a single book completely. I tried to read them for fifteen minutes and then put them aside while picking up another book. All of these books are my fucking comfort favourite books that I have re-read for so many times. The books whose MMC are my, to heart, book boyfriends.

Her heart, which usually beat with a dull, anxious thud, suddenly kicked into a frantic rhythm. The Radical Review. It was a small, gritty literary journal based in a converted warehouse in Brooklyn. It published avant-garde poetry and essays on urban decay. It had absolutely nothing to do with Cross Industries. It had no board of directors, no stock price, and certainly no connection to Damian Cross. It was a lifeline.

It wasn’t anything like the libraries in Gabriel and Raphael’s estates but this room was beautiful in its own dark haunted way. I picked the one that had caught my attention because of Mario, The Art of War, and tucked it beneath my arm as I went through other books. When I picked up one of the heavy books that was on the top shelf which looked like no one had ever read it or even moved it from its place from the dust that was gathered in its cover, I cleaned it with my palm and realized that it wasn’t a book but a journal. There was one more. I picked it up too. I sat down on the floor and opened the journal first.

We have a nice selection of them, actually. Along with the journals are some musty cloth-bound editions of classic literary texts. You know the kind. Books which appear antique and valuable but aren’t. Here’s a damp, musty-smelling copy of Benito Cereno, next to a collection of Shakespeare’s plays. Also, several classic editions of Hemingway’s novels. Now here’s something interesting. A diary. Upon opening it, a name scrawled on the inside cover grabs my attention: “Jebediah Bassler.” Of Bassler House? Bassler Road, and Bassler Memorial Library? This is interesting, to say the least.

Bella is really going to benefit from someone who is really laid back and able to calm her down. Challenge this week is going to be a bit different.
