“Home sweet home.” Greta dumps her hand luggage in the center of the Tarry shack as I walk in behind her and gaze around the much-missed home of ours. Glad to be back here even though we were not gone all that long, not even far, and yet it feels like we went to another planet. That it’s been months instead of one. It’s the warmest and most relaxing breath of fresh air to walk in here, letting all my stresses go and basking in the feel of familiar safety.

Driving through the city, memories flooded back—places they had visited, experiences they had shared. "It's like we never left," Gia exclaimed, her eyes taking in the sights of Nairobi's lively streets. "Kenya always feels like home," Deep replied, a smile tugging at his lips. Arriving at their house, they were greeted by familiar faces—neighbors excitedly waving and welcoming them back. The warmth of their homecoming enveloped them as they stepped through their front door. The scent of their familiar surroundings and the coziness of their own space brought a sense of comfort.

I say as he keeps my suitcase in my room. He leaves me alone with a smile and i look around. Just the same as always. I don't come home all the times, it's just I enjoy my independence and I come whenever I'm home sick. Inspite of that, my room always remains the same. And i love it My parents live 100 kms away, away from the city. My father is retired and is enjoying his life with my mother. My father used to run a multi-millionaire company, which is now taken over my brother.

Back then, Ruby was always dreaming about the capital city of Norcrown. "Silas, if our company ever really makes it big, let's move our headquarters to Norcrown! But I've heard office space in the financial district costs a fortune… When the time comes, let's rent an entire floor and make it grand! How does that sound?" I was still lost in thought when the car stopped in front of an estate in the heart of the city. The moment I walked in, the smell of home-cooked food greeted me. My mom ran out of the kitchen, her eyes red, and she gave me a big hug. "Silas! You're finally home! Look how thin you've gotten! Just how much have you been through out there?!"

Doom. Now, it sounded like home. The good kind. The kind you chose. The kind no one could ever take from you again.

"A lady rammed her car into mine and told me off." Hussein snorted and shook his head. "No woman can ever compare to my Winner." Winner was the sweetest, kindest woman I'd ever had the opportunity of meeting. She was just like Mom and she reminded me of... I shook my head to clear it. It'd been years and I tried not to bring up memories of her. It hurt physically, mentally and emotionally whenever I thought of her so I never bothered but certain dates brought back those memories to my mind like a tsunami making its way into a city.

I ask before I can stop myself. "Dunno bro. Where's home? Home is nowhere but here " Stan says and beats his chest. "Trace and the unborn child, that's home. " I nod in agreement. I believe Stan. Home is not a house with an address. It is the people we love and care about. Stan has his home with Trace and the baby. The silence in the room is deafening. I wonder if I would ever boast of having a home in the future. For now, I know I do not have one.

Sky was stunned. 'Our? my home? my own home?', Sky couldn't speak for a while. "Yes, it is our home", Elliot held her hands gently. "This is so beautiful", Sky had tears in her eyes. Elliot really knew her the best. He knew how Sky longed for her own home where she can feel a sense of belonging. She had always been living under a continuous fear that one day she'd be abandoned by everyone. Elliot knew her darkest nightmare so he wanted to make her feel secure.
