A weakness that I will use against them. Let the world judge me. Let Sarah judge me. I've already made my peace. I know what I have to do, and no one is going to stop me. I won't let anything stand in the way. The only justice that matters to me is the kind that leaves a trail of blood in its wake.

"No matter what, he deserves to die. And I promise—I'll make sure he never gets away from what awaits him." For the first time in what felt like an eternity, I smiled. A genuine, bitter, satisfied smile. Justice was on the way. And Jay would pay.

Too calm and casual like death was normal, like pulling the trigger to take another's life was the same as killing a chicken. “I can't promise you that Maria, but I can't promise you he would pay. He is an officer and therefore know the law. His price will be more dreadful compared to a civilian's. He would get what he deserves—justice will be served,” he nodded slowly, keeping his eyes fixed on the road. Maria stared at him cautiously while he narrated how much he believed in the system of justice. The system she understood would fail. She shook her head slowly, relaxing it on the window. “And then what? You’d get your revenge and move on? Justice will be served. Rich will be locked up for a long, long time. I think that’s a pretty decent punishment for any person.” Heath stopped pacing, not saying anything. He seemed to be at war with himself. His shoulders tensed, his forehead creased. Jubilee’s heart pounded from nerves, and in a burst of frustration, she said, “Will you just tell me already?” He blinked. “What?”

“Please, I was so hungry.” Yohan steps forward this time, looking back at me, he gives me a knowing look. As if saying, let me handle this. Normally, I would argue, I don’t want to watch in the sidelines, but this time, I have no idea what the right thing to do was. Justice had to be served, you can’t just go ahead and kill people, especially for food. However, I’ve never been in a situation where I went hungry, where I had to fight for food, so I will never understand just what was going on in her mind at that moment.

“But we won’t stop either. For Scarlet. For Emma. For everyone.” I would not rest until justice was served. And Michael would pay for his sins.

Another voice, laced with disdain, interjected, “This traitor doesn’t deserve to walk on our land. Getting him eliminated immediately will be better.” In a calm, measured tone, yet devoid of warmth, another spoke up. “No. To kill him would be a mercy. He should endure suffering. Let him live in a state of powerlessness and shame.” A murmur of mixed reactions filled the room some were furious, while others appeared hesitant. Justice had multiple perspectives, but ultimately, the decision rested with Leo. Leo stood. His voice cut through the background noise. “We are not like him. We do not kill out of revenge. He will not be executed.”

He stepped onto the mortuary gurney without a hint of shame, then spat on the body. "Exactly. If the dead thing couldn't stay alive, that's on him. I didn't do it on purpose. Why are you being so petty, Nathan?" Fury surged through me. I tried to stop him, but Vivian stepped in front of me and said impatiently, "Julian and his brother are only telling the truth. The man's already dead. There's no need to drag this to court." I looked at Vivian and suddenly felt as if I didn't know her at all.

“You think she’d want you throwing your life away for revenge against a guy like Bradley who is mentally unstable.” “This wouldn't be revenge.* “Then what is it?” I didn't answer because the truth was that it was. My chest didn't sound much better admitting it. “It would be justice.” Lucas sighed, his palm slapped across his forehead painfully. “Thats what the court is supposed to decide.” “And what if the court fails because they believe his nonsense.” Lucas looked at me directly. “Then we keep fighting through the system. You shouldn't do anything reckless.” I shook my head slowly. “Bradley stood there smiling while Mia bled on the floor, he doesn't deserve a slow justice.”

Justice is served. But the singular beings were not convinced. Were not satisfied. Were not ready to forgive. Solitude spoke for them. "They committed unforgivable crime. Created permanent torture. Made irreversible suffering. How can that be forgiven? How can that be released? How can that be acceptable? They forced merger. They violated consent. They created hell. That is unforgivable. That is irredeemable. That is eternal crime deserving eternal punishment. We cannot forgive. Cannot release. Cannot accept. They must serve forever. Must suffer forever. Must pay forever. That is justice. That is appropriate. That is what they deserve. Forever."
