He gulps the last of his water, crushes the empty bottle in his hand until it scrunches into a ball, then hurls the fisted plastic into the farthest depth of the forests beyond us at inhuman speed. The baritone in his voice drops a notch below. “We’ll end him.” I'm about to ask what the plan will be in detail, when my mind drifts to the date of the next full moon. Only a few days away now, the date coincides with… the night of the School's Winter Formal. Shane balls both his hands into fists, inhaling, then stares up at the reddening sky. “Dreadborn will fall on the next full moon. I'll make damn certain of it.”

We turn at the same time to see Luka stepping out from the forest, his gold-tinted curls blowing about his face, his brown eyes wide with wonder at the sight of the river. He walks past, still not seeing us. Darius and I look at each other, then scramble up to follow him. Luka stops at the top of the river embankment. He passes his hand over his eyes. When he drops his hand again, he opens his eyes and they are a milky grey colour. The glow disappears from the sky and in the darkness a full moon rises. Not just any moon. I recognize this moon. So pale, so clear, it appears as if behind a layer of ice. The first full moon of the new year. The Wolf Moon.

Cilyna gave her a look that dripped in fear as Kaynon say down beside her and took her hand in his. "Whatever it is, the kids will be safe. I will give my life to insure their's will continue." Kaynon mind linked Cilyna in an attempt to call her racing heart. "Alright, so what is this ominous prophecy?" Cilyna asked. "We are directly desended from the first chosen of the moon goddess. The only wolves to know of Kyrie and Dante. The moon goddess told them when all species joined as one again, all the gods and goddess's would return to the earth and it would be the end of existence as we know it." her mother spoke slowly after a deep breath.

"You won't win Kane, I already have this in the bag. So why don't you just stop and let me have this position." Kane let out a laugh, "the gig is up Conrad. My Luna broke the spells you and Davina had me under, you thought that you could have weakened me to defeat me in a challenge and become Alpha. I guess you forgot who Hayley truly is, she isn't just a Pure/Timber wolf. She is also the only direct decedent of the moon goddess. Nothing is impossible for her." Kane let out, taking a few steps towards Conrad. A few eyes turn towards Davina, while others continued to stare at Conrad.

“Give him time. He’ll come back to us.” But as the weeks turned into months, even Liam’s faith began to falter. One evening, after returning from yet another solitary trip into the forest, Kane stood in the courtyard of the packhouse, staring up at the night sky. The moon was full, its silver light casting an ethereal glow over the landscape. He closed his eyes, letting the cool night air wash over him. For a moment, he allowed himself to imagine that Layla was still with him, her laughter echoing in his ears, her touch a memory that refused to fade.

“Breathe, sister.” The Moon Goddess joined Hecate on the bed. Hecate grabbed her hand. “Where is Kane?” She sounded small and terrified. Selene leaned over her. “Hunting. It is his first shift, and he is starving.” Hecate shook her head. “I can’t do this alone.” Black-tinged tears trailed down her face. “And you won’t.” Selene leaned over and kissed her face. “You helped me bring my child into this world. I will do the same.” I moved over to her side.

I said, remembering Elena's words. "Six down. Moontide is the seventh. The last. The one that led the attack." His eyes burned with cold fire. "Kane is the one I want most. But I'm patient. I've been planning this for years. And now, finally, everything is in place." "What does this have to do with me?" "You're from Moontide. You know their territory, their routines, their weaknesses. MY LUNA Cynthia thought that everything was a dream because the situation she was in was perfect to be true. "Give us some alone time! We need to discuss personal things!" Alpha Kane commanded Beta Ian who was forced to remain outside, manning the door. Alpha Kane and Cynthia got into the house . Alpha Kane went ahead to pull a chair for her and she was in cloud nine. In one fluid motion, he reached out to his phone from his pocket and answered it. I stood there, suffocating under his gaze, as he answered with a soft, and calm voice I barely recognized—almost tender. “Hello?” A female voice drifted from the speaker, “Kane, I'm at your office now. When are you coming in, I need to keep you company.” That voice belongs to Meena. Of course, she has gotten what she always wanted. “I'll be right there,” he replied, his voice filled with warmth. “Drive carefully Kane,” she added. “I’ll be waiting for you. The full moon is today and I’d like to spend time with you.”

"Oh by the way, my names Carson and the guy kicking my ass up stairs was Sky." "Irana..." I say awkwardly. Carson looks at the pantry for a minute before pulling her head back out. "Do you like Mac and Cheese?" I nod my head, wounding when I should ask what I was doing here, or when I could go home. Carson dances around the kitchen, grabbing a pot, shrikes as she nearly drops the pot on her foot, nearly drops the packet, then results to pocking things with her spoon as she sways on her feet like she was drunk.
