Stuart chimed in with a smirk, “He’s just in love.”
“But all this?” Kaz asked, clearly amused.
“We’re celebrating our three months together,” I said, unable to hide the excitement in my voice. “I just want to show her how much I love her.”
Kaz wrinkled his nose. “That’s so cheesy, man.”
“Grow up, Kaz,” Stuart chuckled, shaking his head. “You won’t understand until you’re in love yourself.”
“Nah, I’m still having fun,” Kaz shrugged.
The teasing continued, but I didn’t care. I was too focused on seeing Ailene, the girl I thought I’d spend my life with. I looked out the window and spotted her with her group of cheerleaders heading toward the gymnasium. My heart raced.
