Layla mocked. “You—” Phoebe said, but before she could get any words out, her brows furrowed in confusion and she started to blink furiously. “You—” She started again but this time she clutched her stomach in pain and everyone stared at her weirdly. She made another attempt to talk but this time she coughed out blood instead. Everyone’s eyes widened and they jumped away from her in shock. She tried to reach over to them but she fell to her knees before she could do anything, coughing more blood but this time, it is black in color.

The urge to vomit overwhelmed me. I struggled to walk to the bathroom. My vision blurred. When I finally reached the bathroom, I collapsed in front of the toilet. Blood spilled from my mouth. My eyes widened. Frozen in shock. Throwing up blood could only mean one thing: The person is dying. And in my case, it meant I was dying. Panic set in. Fear gripped my heart. How could this be happening? Now, of all times.

I sprinted toward the bathroom and watched my legs disappearing while I was sitting on the toilet seat. Human legs disappeared, and spider legs emerged. "What's happening, Dr. Adler?" Arianna rubbed her tired head and explained, "This is a common symptom. She'll be fine with rest, but—" "Ah!" Before Arianna could finish, Rick exclaimed, "Blood!
