Uzair growled as I froze holding my cheek. "Aayee hayee....kya pyaar hai?! 1 ko maro toh dusre ko takhleef hoti hai." (Aww... what love?! If I hit one, the other gets hurt) He laughed. I held back my tears. I'd had enough. I had to do something. I couldn't just watch because I was scared. He kidnapped me, beat up my fiancé and threatened my family all for what? So I got off the floor and storming towards him grabbed his arm turning him to me with what little strength I had and grabbed his collar.

“You’re gonna be okay.” Lena’s good eye snapped open, filled with pain and something uglier. “This is your fault,” she spat through gritted teeth. “Your stupid fucking fantasy. You got me kidnapped, beaten, and shot because you couldn’t keep your mouth shut about wanting to be Reaper’s whore.” The words landed like punches. Hazel flinched but didn’t let go. “I know. I’m so sorry—” “Sorry doesn’t fix my leg.” Lena’s voice cracked as the doc started stitching. “I heard them talking while they had me. King wanted you bad. He said you’d look real pretty chained in his basement. And now I’m the one who paid for your wet dream.”

The hairs at the nape of my neck prickled in alarm, and my body tensed as I prepared to break into a sprint, but it was already too late. Powerful arms wrapped around my arms and torso, lifting me up bodily from the ground, and as I squirmed a bag fell over my head, turning the whole world black. It was a disgusting thing, but the sudden darkness kicked some animal part of my brain into overdrive and I struggled against the man who was crushing me to him even harder, screaming while I did so. Rogueland was lawless, but surely someone would intercede if they witnessed someone getting kidnapped in broad daylight and—

“This is your home now, Zarina! You belong here, with us. You don’t have any other place to go. You’re a nobody, a worthless orphan. You should be grateful for what I’m offering you.” His words cut through me like a knife. I’m not worthless, I’m not a nobody. I’m a person, with my own dreams, hopes, and fears. “I am grateful,” I say, my voice shaking with rage. “Grateful for being kidnapped? Grateful for being treated like a prisoner? Grateful for not being allowed to be free?”

Karissa dismissed. “The fff!” I bit my lips and groaned, whirling on Quinn. “Do you have any idea who the kidnapper is?” “Who?” “Mamba. Fucking Mamba!” Quinn looked lost than widened his eyes. “The one from Cisco mission?” I nodded. “He's after my life. I walked out with a bullet wound and he with a scratch. It wouldn't take him long to reviver before he comes after me again. He's inpatient. If he wants to settle scores, I'm not putting Ethan or Miss Johnson in danger.”

I couldn’t be more fucking wrong… Because two and a half years later, the case had been closed. Justice hadn’t been served. Agron was walking free… Without a warning, without any penalty at all. My claws were out and I felt bones cracked under my grip as I raised him up and slammed him into the wall. He struggled to hit me back but I didn’t let him take charge. “You have no idea what you’ve done,” I growled. He laughed breathlessly. “Yes, I do. I showed you who you really are. And it’s clear, loser.” The kidnapper recovered and grabbed a metal pipe, swinging it into my back. White hot pain shot through me as I staggered. Danzo did not waste the opening. His claws tore across my chest, shredding skin.

The kind of laugh that bubbles up when your soul is collapsing and the universe is too cruel to make sense anymore. “Sweet,” I repeated, biting back a feral grin. “Yeah. Adorable.” I didn’t even wait for the receipt. I turned, walked out the doors of that overpriced hellhole, and stepped into the moonlight like a woman reborn. Because here’s the thing. I accidentally kidnapped a stranger, mistook him for my cheating fiancé, and absolutely railed him within an inch of his life. Meanwhile, my actual fiancé was across the hall, getting handsy with my own younger sister.

"Are you crazy?! It's just a wedding! How long are you—" Nonetheless, I was sent stumbling backward while knocking over the box by my feet. Everything inside dropped out, and Sean picked up the PTSD diagnosis on top, his eyes narrowing. "W-What is this?" He demanded, his voice cracking in disbelief, "You're suffering from mental issues?" I looked into his eyes fixedly, but despite his genuine shock, I snorted. "You didn't know, did you? I wasn't hit by a car—I really was kidnapped. Are you happy to see me like this now?"

Liam stood tall, his eyes scanning the dimly lit warehouse, the only sound the creaking of old wooden beams. He clutched the duffel bag tightly, his heart racing with anticipation. Suddenly, footsteps echoed through the space. Liam's gaze locked onto the figures emerging from the shadows. The kidnappers, masked and menacing, stepped forward, Isadora held captive between them. Her hands were bound behind her back, and a strip of duct tape sealed her mouth shut. Her eyes, wide with fear, met Liam's, pleading for help.
