My head jerked to the side, my skin burning. “You killed her,” she spat, her voice trembling with rage and despair. “You killed Elizabeth just to cover your stupid act.” My mouth fell open, words choking at the back of my throat. “What? No… no, Alina, I—” But she had already turned away, her body folding back into Dante’s arms as if I no longer existed.

“He’s killing them… without even touching them.” Luca’s hand gripped my shoulder, steadying me as best he could. His usually soft healer’s eyes were sharp with fear. “And you’re the key. You’re who he wants. He’s weakening the pack so he can drag you away without resistance. We need to move. Now.” But even as the words left his lips, I knew we were already too late. The trees exploded in a burst of firelight and snarls—and Killian emerged like a storm. His massive form tore through the smoke, half-shifted, his eyes glowing a feral, molten gold. Fury rolled off him in waves so intense I felt it prick against my skin.

My skin erupted with black fur. The pain should have been unbearable. But I barely felt it. Because Killian had gone primal. Completely and utterly feral. He did not care about the pain. Did not care about anything except the red-eyed beast that was triggering the curse. The beast that was walking toward us through the darkness. Massive. Hulking. Eyes glowing like coals. Killian launched toward it with full force. No hesitation. No strategy. Just raw, brutal violence. We collided mid-air, a tangle of claws and teeth and fury.

Herron called as he saw Killian walk forward; the fear in his body became greater as Herron fell flat to the floor, and he backed away pathetically with each Killian too forward till he was backed into a corner. "This burns; you left me, and you killed my parents; you will pay for them all," Killian says darkly as Herron moves back. “I know every single detail about what you did,” he tells Herron, whose eyes were still wide as saucers and his mouth open. "How you watched with a sickly smile on your face as my parents and home burned—those eyes that were deemed fit to see my parents burn to ashes,” Killian mutters as he picks up a wine corkscrew, jamming it into Herron's right eye.

“She’s alive?” “Barely.” Killian exhaled slowly, nodding as if piecing things together. “And you want me to do what, exactly?” Victor took a step forward, closing the distance between them. “Find the one who gave the order. Rip him apart.” A slow smile spread across Killian’s face, one that didn’t reach his eyes. “That’s all?” Sarah tensed, watching the shift in the air. Killian wasn’t just a tracker. He was a monster in his own right, one that Victor had once barely kept on a leash. And now, he was setting him loose.

His confidence cracked, he was scared. I didn't take my chances this time. With the last strength I had, I yanked free from his grasp. Then Killan stepped into the dim light. His eyes were cold, his movements calculated. He charged forward like a predator, grabbing the leader by the throat and lifting him clean off the ground. My mouth ran dry.
