I said to him and he sat down on the bed. “He was going to contact The Council,” he said “A life for a life,” I said to him. “And you’re what, going to kill us all?” he asked. “Lawrence Patterson, your soul has been weighed and you’ve been found guilty,” I said to him and shot him in the head. He fell back on his bed and the blood spread out beneath him. I took my time and dug the bullet from my shoulder, placing everything I used in the basin. I went to the kitchen and got a plastic bag and put everything I used in the bag.

Patrick's face paled inch by inch as the recording continued, reaching the worst part. Our conversation in the storage room, my piercing scream, and the crack of my wrist breaking echoed through the speakers. Clifford listened with mounting rage, his fists clenched. Veins bulged on his forehead. My faint plea followed. "Patrick, it hurts." But his cold voice boomed. "Rita's reputation must stay spotless." The recording ended, and Patrick collapsed like a broken puppet, knowing he was finished. Clifford stepped closer, his boots clicking heavily on the floor. His voice was devoid of warmth as he declared, "Treason! The military tribunal will ensure your execution."

They just wait and a few days from now, someone will die next to them. I sat in my chair and ignored them. I know they still accuse me but I don’t care what they think of me anymore. I'll just prove to them that I'm the one who kills when it's time for them to die. They don’t catch me that easily. All my plans are fine, nothing will change to that. The next one I will kill is George. He was too talkative.

Distantly, he heard Clare saying his name, but it was small and tinny, as if coming through a radio with a bad connection. Or as if he were at the bottom of a deep well and she were calling down to him from the top. All he could think about at the moment was the fact that in a matter of a few hours, he had killed first a dog then graduated to killing another human being. Acts of which he would have thought himself incapable of a mere week ago.

I smiled as I saw the woman who I suppose was the mom going down, her body stiff. She was gone. I placed the gun on his head making him close his eyes shut ready to meet with the devil. Tears flowed down his cheek like a running waterfall. "patetico"I spat. (Pathetic) I squatted to his level, lowering the gun. "Don't cry you little fagot. You'll soon be reunited with your wife and children." He looked at me confused because his kids were alive.

I can feel Patton watching me, inspecting my face, trying to see past the expression of neutrality I’ve spent a lifetime trying to master. “I don’t think,” Patton says after several long, tense moments of silence, “Duke was trying to kill her. I think he planned to… I don’t know, take her back to town and sell her to one of the guys he’s in debt to, maybe, so they could use her to get a ransom from the royal family.” “The royal family doesn’t pay ransoms,” I reply under my breath. “Alpha King Ryatt and Queen Ella would’ve burned that town to the ground to find her.”

Those were the two people the old hag killed. I couldn't control my emotions as I kept wailing. Kate stayed with me during the weekend and helped me with the basic things I needed help with around the house. Kate also offered I stayed at her place but I declined. I can't afford to be close with any other family and later get to know that they would leave this world
