I ignored the smirk in William’s voice, focusing instead on the way Matthew’s face lit up slightly.
“No way,” he said. “I’m a writer too! I do columns for my school’s lit mag.”
“Nice work, Morrison,” William teased, shooting me a quick look.
I narrowed my eyes at him, jaw tightening.
“So,” Alexandra cut in, thankfully redirecting the moment, “we’re doing a feature on local hauntings. Heard you might have some insight.”
