When his mind was made up to put a smile on her face, he ended up doing the very opposite of his words.

His nod was so stiff that it looked painful. I rolled my eyes. “And maybe try smiling?” Knox scoffed. “I don’t feel like smiling at people, Aria.” “Well, you have to.” Another pack member greeted us. I smiled as I replied in greeting. Knox lifted his lips slightly. It looked less like a smile and more like a grimace. I blinked. “What was that?” “A smile,” he said flatly. I stared at him, then shook my head. “No, that was terrifying.”

She turned, grabbing one of the cupcakes from the box before walking over to Sebastian. "Here," she said, holding it out. Sebastian's face lit up instantly. "For me?" "For you." He took it with a grin, his eyes flicking to Kane. "Damn," he said, shaking his head. "You got yourself a good one." Kane rolled his eyes. "Fuck off." Sebastian sighed dramatically, placing a hand over his chest. "You see this? No appreciation. No joy. No warmth." Mona giggled softly. "You need to change," Sebastian continued, pointing at Kane. "Smile more. Be like her."
