ISLAND OF DESIRE: REJECTED HEIRESS
Kael shouted.
I stretched my hands out at once. Soft silver light flowed from me naturally, steady and clear, pushing outward like gentle invisible wall. It touched the churning surface, not fighting violently but wrapping around the flow and confusing its pull. I felt the water answer me… and the shark swerved away sharply, slowed as if thick mist blocked its way.
Together we hauled Rico back onto safe, higher ground. He coughed and shivered, pale but unhurt.
“Too close,” he breathed. “It moved faster than I thought possible.”
