Chapter 5: Marriage II Third Person’s POV The bright yellow hue of the horizon mellowed to orange as the sun slowly hid in the embrace of the clouds. The grand manor of the Valerius king family stood at the central territory of the Rogue capital along with the Cavalier king family and the Sanguis king family. The central territory is home to the nobles, generals and the wealthy citizens at the top of the Rogue kingdom’s hierarchy. The black ivory walls of the grand manor shone with a repressed authority.

The warriors of the First Kingdom stood together once more. Then Finn pointed his blade toward the Primordial Darkness. His voice rang through the ruined palace. "Royal Guardians..." The wolves answered as one. "...form ranks!" The chamber trembled. Not from fear but from hope.

She questioned looking at him a bit concerned, she thought she had seen every room in that beautiful underground Kingdom. “Yes, the Keepers Ward, it’s just this way.” He moved a purple tapestry to the side and opened a hidden door. “The Keepers Ward is a place in the kingdom for children of the realm, some have lost their parents, others were abandoned, and few were left because of birth defects amongst other things.” “Oh my,” She gasped, putting her hand over her mouth as she headed down the narrow hallway following behind the Ealdorman.

It appears that I will not be able to eat lunch today. I cleaned every nook and cranny. I discovered an interesting book while cleaning the room's bookshelf. It had to do with politics. I had no idea, but it piqued my interest. The book was enjoyable to read. It all comes down to how the kingdom functions in the hands of the Alpha king. The Alpha king holds the highest position, followed by his heir or son, the Betas and Omegas, and the Elders and Councilors who oversee the kingdom's traditional cultures.

The sight stole every breath in the valley. Then Cassian whispered: "What is that?" Nobody answered. Then the Keeper finally did. "The First Kingdom." Silence. Then: "The place where it began." THE VIKINGS had set up camp just outside the Kingdom of Wessex as they all gathered, preparing and strategizing for their next move. Sophie was escorted into a tent by Hvitserk, accompanied by four guards to ensure she remained confined until they convened for the feast. They couldn't risk losing their valuable hostage. Later, she followed two guards to where King Ragnar and his allies were assembled. The raucous noise reminded her of the feasts she had witnessed in Kattegat, but this time, she was to join in rather than serve.

A long pause followed. Then finally— “It was once one of us.” The words hit like a hammer. Ash stared. “I’m sorry, what?” The creature smiled wider. “There it is.” Lucien’s face lost color. “The Keepers.” The Hollow King nodded once. “The first Keepers.” My stomach tightened. Everything suddenly felt much larger than we’d thought. The prison. The Axis. The mountain. All of it. The creature slowly sat on the edge of the fracture as though it were perfectly comfortable.

Even seasoned warriors who had faced rogue Alphas and cursed wolves without hesitation now carried unease in their eyes. Whatever hunted the Mad Wolf clearly possessed a reputation that reached far beyond ordinary legends. Caierre looked toward the old man. "Who are they?" The old man rested both hands on the top of his staff before answering. "They call themselves the Keepers." Grant frowned. "Keepers of what?" "The Balance." "The balance between what?"
