one dared to ponder, her gaze fixed upon the bathing servant. "I cannot fathom his intentions, but surely he discerns something extraordinary within this child," the one cradling the baby replied. Two other servants entered, presenting a soft fabric outfit akin to those worn by humans. "Enough idle chatter," scolded the servant, her voice laced with authority. "Our king awaits, and we must focus on our duties." The two gossiping servants glared in response, their silence punctuating their obedience. The task at hand resumed, dressing the baby without uttering another word.

"We apologize, Your Majesty," the servant said with a deep bow. "We can't stop the Queen." The servants bowed low as the king made his way through the grand hall, his regal presence commanding respect and admiration. They gestured towards him and gave a subtle nod. Without hesitation, they swiftly stepped aside. With measured steps, the King advanced towards his beloved, causing the vampires within the vicinity to widen their eyes in awe. They would once more become paralyzed by a fear they had not anticipated from the King should they utter a single word or move the slightest.

Gary hissed, suddenly bolting to his feet and marching toward me. I was backed up against a corner and could go no further when he grabbed my arm and shook me hard. A tendril of fear wrapped around my neck. “You stupid pup. Would you rather live like a lowly peasant and pass up an offer to be among a royal worker?” “Why do you make their jobs sound pleasant? They are not ‘royal’ servants. They are called servants!” I corrected him. “Well you wouldn’t end up being a lowly servant like them if the king takes pleasure in you.” He suggested. “It’s a great opportunity—.”

We were there for a while as more people were rescued, they gave us food and water, it wasn't edible, but it was enough. After a few hours, Beta Ryder came forward and called for everyone to gather to be addressed by the king. A moment I had been dreadfully looking forward to. If I ever doubted his kingship or the monarchy before, now I don't. His eyes were red with bloodlust, probably from killing all night. I have never seen that shade of red and black in a pair of eyes before. He didn't need to try before his aura had us all bowing. For some reason, he seemed awfully familiar.

The remaining men were weary, their bodies bruised and battered, but their spirits remained unbroken—at least for now. As the suitors discussed their strategies and speculated on what lay ahead, a humble servant entered the tent, carrying a tray of drinks. His attire was simple, and his demeanor unassuming. He moved quietly, offering refreshments with a respectful bow. The suitors barely noticed him, too engrossed in their own thoughts. Cedric who was hidden beneath the guise of a lowly server, moved silently among the men, pouring drinks with the precision and deference expected of his supposed station. His sharp eyes missed nothing, watching the suitors with the practiced gaze of one accus

The consorts whispered among themselves, their gazes sharp and curious. Janina smirked, her voice cutting through the silence. “What are you doing here and dressed like that? Haven’t you heard? You’re my personal maid now. I was generous enough to let you have your beauty sleep, but don’t forget your place.” Serena’s glare was ice. “Excuse me? Your maid? Do you have a death wish? Don’t forget, the king is still bonded to me. That alone makes me far more important than you. You don’t have the right to claim me as your servant.”

Up close, he looked young, though faint lines had settled around his eyes. “The King’s slave, aren’t you?” His rasping voice made my pulse jolt. I lowered my gaze in polite formality. “I’m a servant.” He moved closer, his breath reeking of wine. “Don’t pretend to be pure, palace whore. Do you think we don’t know your real duties in the King’s bed?” I bit my lip, forcing myself to swallow the discomfort crawling up my spine. “I’m just a servant here. And I’m not permitted to answer questions like that.”

It doesn't sound right. "Really?" The princess raised her left eyebrow. She thinks about the persons who are always close to her. She can't think of anyone who fits but Liu Chen. But then again, Liu Chen is just a loyal subordinate to his superior. Nothing more nothing less. She gives up thinking and asked, "Like who?" The other servant exclaims, "Like Lieutenant General Liu Chen!"

“Welcome back.” Suddenly, his expression shifted when he noticed Kaleb and his group of guards. The young man studied them for a second and then frowned. Kaleb didn’t seem to notice the strangeness in his gaze. “Where is the Alpha King?” he asked the servant bluntly, and we were all a little taken aback by his question. “I beg your pardon, sir?” the servant asked, and then he cleared his throat. “Who are you?” Kaleb held his chin up ever so slightly. “My name is Kaleb Adams.”

Finally, one came out and spoke. "How would you do that?" He asked, curiosity and suspicion dripping from his tone. The warrior did not shed a simple emotion and instead turned to look at the King. "My Lord, may I request a servant for a little demonstration?" "You may, but do not hurt anyone." "Understood." He turned to face the line of servants who stood behind the throne hidden from the throne room. Their primary purpose was to aid the King whenever he needed their help.
