Kira dissolved into giggles, shoving it back onto the rack with exaggerated flair. “Okay, okay. Remind me again whose funeral this is? Maybe I can narrow it down to something appropriately savage.”
I glanced around the boutique, ensuring we were out of earshot of the elegant sales associates hovering nearby. “Uh… my husband’s ex-girlfriend,” I said, clearing my throat awkwardly. “She’s gone.”
Kira stopped mid-reach for another hanger, turning to me with wide eyes. “Wow. I’m happy for you.”
