She stared at him with her big eyes without blinking, and pouted her mouth.

She brushed away my tears, relit the candles, and told me to make a wish. I closed my eyes and wished for everything my heart could hold. "I want to stay happy with Miley forever. I want us never to be apart. I want her to love only me. I want to be her sister forever..." I wished and wished. I didn't open my eyes until the candles had nearly burned themselves out. Then, finally, I blew them out.

We did not fear the cold. I thought, “But Alex, I had traded all my power to make the second wish for your family.” I was as fragile as any human. My fingers were sheathed in frost. The world in front of me was blurring. When I looked up, I saw dark clouds gathering quietly in the sky. It was coming. “Ten… nine… eight… seven…” As soon as I finished the countdown, I burst into manic laughter. “Alex, I curse you! You will suffer miserably for the rest of your short life!”

She is here standing with a big cake asking me to make a wish. “You want me to make a wish?” I asked her, looking at her directly to her face and she nodded. “I wish I never saw you, I wish I wasn’t blinded by love for taking you back into my life. That’s my wish, Mia.” I could see as the gasp left her throat.

What have I discovered? There he was looking at the illumination with complete wonder.
