The Nameless Luna
My knees were jelly already, shaking like leaves on a windy Autumn day.
Even blinking became a chore. I tried to retreat carefully, but knew it was useless. It had seen me already. It was looking at me.
Finally, it came out, and the light of my dying candle brought out its features.
The Cryogen.
A gasp left me. It felt like it had jumped right out of the painting. How could…? How could I be facing such? Was it a dream? My breath began to come out in shallow gasps, and my weak legs managed to take a step back, only to crash into something. It fell and I stepped on it, with a sickening crunch.
