Stopping at the last step of the stairs, I sighed, wondering what train wreck I was going to walk into now. It was an absolute mess. The whole kitchen was a disaster. It nearly looked like a warzone or like a tornado just flipped it inside out. The culprits had their backs turned to me, not realizing that I stood grimacing at each and every flour stain and eggshell I saw.

Chapter 2 — Splash Jerkface Two Weeks Ago… Kallista Hughes stood in the bustling kitchen of Brio’s Kitchen, gripping the edge of the stainless-steel counter so hard her knuckles whitened. When I walked into the kitchen, I was greeted with a delightful aroma of delicacies. Fried chicken, steak, carbonara, and freshly baked pastries are all available. My stomach groaned in appreciation as I continued to go closer to the kitchen island, taking in the delectable aromas.
