I simply lean back, steepling my fingers, and look at him. I let the silence stretch, let him squirm in it. His knuckles are white where he’s gripping the tablet. “Put that down,” I command, nodding to the tablet. He sets it on the edge of my desk with trembling hands. “Now,” I say, my voice dropping to a low, intimate register that is only for him. “Kneel.” His breath hitches. A flush creeps up his neck, painting his skin a delicious, embarrassed pink.

My knees trembled. My vision blurred at the edges. My breath grew uneven. Omega instincts screamed. Submit. Kneel. Obey. I bit down on the inside of my cheek hard enough to taste blood. My heart flutter at their movements. "Shit just got real." I heard Cade whisper to Adrian and they also knelt down in front of me, hanging their heads low. It is known that kneeling for someone means you respect and you surrender. In the underworld, in our world, kneeling for someone means the person is higher than you and has command over you. " It is okay,shhhhshh... whatever it is it's going to be alright. It's only temporary" I say and keep on comforting her until she is calm enough to talk.
