Jesse turned the lights on then shrugged off his jacket to hang it up on the coat rack beside the door. K also handed her parka to Jesse, then turned away to walk towards his compact office desk beside the huge sliding glass window. Manila folders, billing envelopes and some documents were haphazardly stacked above the desk. And on the far edge against the wall, there was a cute bobblehead figure of Morrissey. K picked it up and looked at it, smiling. "I love this!" She turned to look at Jesse.

She scrolls through while reading their names. “Bitan… Furuōgi… Rokurokubi… no wait maybe it’s in the other folder.” She says and switches to the other folder to search for it. “Here it is!” she says while comparing the photo of a Tako nyūdō to the tentacle monster that they had encountered. [Author’s Note: Tako nyūdō is an octopus like yokai which is quite similar to the one they encountered… The octopus is a direct translation for Tako. I don’t know what the other thing means to be honest.]

The court moved quickly, clearing space in the center of the chamber. The duel circle formed beneath the towering pillars of bone and stone. Adrian stepped into the open space. Across from him, Kharvek unsheathed a massive curved blade. “Try not to die too quickly,” the demon mocked. Adrian said nothing. The duel began. Kharvek attacked first. The demon moved with surprising speed for his size, his blade crashing down with enough force to crack the stone floor. Adrian twisted aside. Steel shrieked against steel as he raised his sword to deflect the next strike.

“I am not going anywhere. This war must stop, now.” Bozo chuckled. Kachi had broken out of his hiding place and was running towards them. In his hands was the rein of Bozo’s black stallion. A horse he had named, Ghost, some few days ago. “Take her to safety,” Bozo grunted and took the rein from the commander, “Make sure her injuries are attended to.” Kachi nodded and tried to take Ejima, but the woman would have none of it. “I said this war should end now.”

Kenji cursed under his breath, grabbed his car keys, and called Inoue. "Get me connected to Kyoko Fujita, immediately!" * Zabuton: a cushion designed for sitting on tatami

I didn’t think there was any normal-sized animal here – remembering Lawrence who was a seven feet tall rabbit that talks. I dropped the few sticks and dried leaves near the entrance of the cave that I picked up along the way, and took a look around the small cave. There were a few old decaying books littered at the end of the cave, a candle unlit for who knows when, a few dirty Erlenmeyer flasks – some others were broken. A rag was placed underneath it as if to protect the books from the dirt that hasn’t gotten to the books – ironic as it is. “Hello.”

As for Ren, in the same way Akio collects Shiba Inu plushies, Ren has a penchant for collecting as well, except his items of choice are KAWS figures. Akio has no idea why Nikolai’s brother likes them so much. They look kind of scary with X’s for eyes and oddly shaped bodies, but so be it. Akio has been able to find keychain-sized versions of the famous figurines, which he uses to decorate Ren’s tree. And finally, there’s his new friend, whose tree features book ornaments, including miniature bookstores.
