Silver Moon Rising
In the center of the clearing lay a flat stone that looked as though it had been placed there deliberately.
“Sit,” Kade said, gesturing toward the stone.
I sat down. The stone was cold through my clothes, but not unpleasant. Kade sat down opposite me, so close that our knees almost touched.
“Close your eyes,” he instructed. “Breathe. Let everything else fall away except the moon.”
I closed my eyes and tilted my face toward the sky. Even through my eyelids, I could feel the moon’s light. It was warm. Inviting.
