Something gave me a bad feeling about her offer, even when she had not made a deal with us. She cleared her throat and spoke in a calm voice, her pale face slowly returning to its normal color. “There are a few things that I will need,” She paused and looked towards Kelly. “But all, except one, can be found in the realm of the Sirens. Especially the opal coral. It's rare and difficult to find, but if we need a complete cure for Oliver, we have to get it. If you want a temporary healing, then, you can find any type of coral, and I will get to work almost immediately.” Kelly nodded earnestly. “I will find it! I will bring it back.”

We enter a large cavern and spread out around the perimeter as we look upon the object that stands tall at the heart of the cavern. Standing at 20 feet tall is a monolithic crystal floating just a few feet off the ground. Inside the crystal is a kaleidoscope of moving colours the likes of which don’t exist anywhere on earth. The colours move and swirl around inside the crystal in a constant state of motion. This is the Orraikam, the single most powerful and valued object to ever exist. Like I wasn't enough. Korra stood behind me for a moment, her presence calm, and grounded as she placed her arm against my shoulder. “If you must get this right," she began, slowly walking up in front of me and reaching for the box in my hand. "The crystal doesn’t respond to control. You must be still and let it find you,” she said, as she gently placed the crystal on a footstool in front of the litted altar. I huffed, easing the tension in my shoulder, and dropped to my knee, my eyes fixed with so much determination on the crystal.

Korra finishes. We hike for what feels like hours. The trees never thin. There’s no path. Just endless green, endless dark. The group is exhausted, wounded, barely hanging on. We’ve got people from different packs, different generations—none of them familiar with the terrain. Then— Movement ahead. Korra raises a hand and everyone stops. I creep forward with her. Just a few feet through the brush, we see her. A woman. Standing alone. She’s cloaked in dark green fabric, braided leather wrapped around her arms and waist. Her hair is silver—not grey, but shimmering, like moonlight. She stands barefoot in the dirt, completely unafraid of us.

I remember feeling like my body was on fire when my fur was coming through. When it was all done, Opal was stunning! She was a solid white wolf with striking silver eyes. Isaac gasped when he looked into her eyes, “Opal, you are stunning! Let’s get you a protection spell. We don’t want anything happening to you on your run.” While Winnie and her friends worked, we all took our clothes off and shifted.

Shaking, I gasp for breath. Kora, his mate, comes forward. She looks beautiful, wearing a traditional gown of Undersea royalty, silks woven in shades of green and blue with hints of red and brown, and a simple diadem of shells. In her hands, she is holding a garment similar to her own, only dyed in deep purple and belted in gold. Gently, she wraps it around me like a robe and my body slowly stops shaking. With Orion's help, I can stand, but only if I lean heavily on his arm.

“I had this custom made.” Her breath was caught as her mouth opened and shut but nothing came out. With shaking hands, Ivory took the box from me and opened it. It was a three karat Opal stone shaped in an oval. It sat on a skinny platinum band. “Oh my.” “It reminds me of your eyes when you use your powers. All those colors yet still so white.” “This is so beautiful.” I watched a stray tear fall down her face. Before her hands could drop it. I took the ring out of the box and placed it on her finger. I had to guess the size and I think I got it right. Ivory held her hand out for her to see. The moon light reflected off it nicely.

I flinched away from his touch. His hands froze in mid-air, a flicker of hurt in his eyes before he let out a weary sigh. His voice softened. "Are you still angry about the Golden Apple? Kressa, you've always been so resilient. Melora needed it. She would have died. Once she recovers, I'll take you to the Eastern Sea to see your favorite auroras. Alright?" I stared at the necklace. Every pearl glowed with sea god magic. It was Melora's favorite ocean blue.

I kept one hand protectively against Kora's stomach. "You didn't need to." Her eyes slid towards me. "I wasn't speaking to you." My jaw tightened. Kora looked between us. I forced myself to smile. "What did you bring him?" Liora's mouth curved slightly before she opened the box. Inside was a beautifully carved black horse. It was probably expensive enough to feed half the servants for a month. Kora stared. "For you,” Liora said, looking pleased. Kora didn't reach for it. Instead, he looked up at me.

Kora said. "What do I do?" I asked. "You destroy the ring and you fight back with everything that you've got. He won't stop coming for you. Protect yourself." She said. "I will." I said. I threw the ring on the ground and I managed to get up, with a lot less pain for some reason, and I stood on the ring. Crushing the opal and making sure that it can't be put back together again. Kora then started walking towards me, slowly. I trusted her.
