Liora snarled and struck again, faster this time, rage twisting her face.
Korra ducked, sliding across the dirt, avoiding the hit by a breath. She popped to her feet lightly.
Liora’s friends laughed mockingly. “What is she doing? Is she dancing or just scared!”
Liora smirked. “Fight back, rogue.”
Korra remained still, centered and calm. Her wolf was focused and in control, reading every breath Liora took.
“Fine,” Liora hissed. “Then die tired.”
She charged, aiming for Korra’s ribs. But Korra leapt, not backward, but forward at an angle that defied expectation, and slid beneath Liora’s swing. Her staff jabbed gently but effectively at Liora’s knee, and her knees buckled.
