I'm fine" Even if Cora was very much thirsty, she rejected the offer as Creed's last words came to her. TRUST NO ONE "Are you sure, Cora?" Max asked. "I'm fine" she repeated as Kira who was halfway with the water, withdrew with it.

Ronan followed, shirtless and half-asleep, rubbing his eyes with one hand and raking the other through his messy dark hair. Kora’s gaze landed on us and a smirk tugged at her lips. “Well, well. Look who finally returned from his mysterious morning adventure.” Lira groaned and shot her a look. “Don’t start.” Kora raised her hands innocently. “I didn’t say anything… yet.” “You were thinking it,” Lira shot back, crossing her arms, though the corner of her mouth twitched with amusement. Kora only grinned wider, clearly proud of herself. “You know me too well.”

Kora chuckled as she broke the kiss, stepping backward.

But Kaida sees it—the way his muscles tighten, the way his jaw clenches, the way he readies himself for whatever is about to come. Korra exhales, a slow, measured breath. Then— She growls. Kaida moves immediately, stepping between them, her hands raised slightly. “Korra,” she says firmly. Her sister doesn’t even glance at her. Her eyes stay locked onto Octavius, her muscles still tensed, silver glow still burning.

Her sweet smile faltered for a second after seeing Rein’s assistant on the other side. “Hello, I’m sorry I didn’t ask for your name back at the party.” She extended her arm, her palm under as a gesture for a hand kiss. “I’m Kora Renaud.” Her softly spoken voice irritated Damon to a high extent. “What an actress,” he thought. Pretending not to see Kora offer her hand, he looked back inside the manor. “As you can see no one’s here, everyone’s on a business trip.”

Tora muttered, not bothering to raise her voice. “I see her,” Jax said from the kitchen, sipping coffee like it was the only thing keeping him upright. “I’m just trying to give her the illusion of independence before I inevitably snatch her off the edge.” Liora looked back over her shoulder, grinned, and giggled like she knew she was being talked about. Kael responded to her glee with an excited squeal and flopped dramatically onto a pillow pile—his version of a crash landing. Tora smiled, her heart warm and full and just a little frayed around the edges from lack of sleep.

Kora said a little flustered. “My apologies Connor, Dakota.” Karson said motioning for the two young males to enter. “Kora, love, this is Alpha Connor and his brother and Beta, Dakota BlackPaw.” they both bowed in respect. “It’s my pleasure, please come in.” Kora waved them in. “This is our daughter in law and Kruz’s mate, Keane.” Kora said leading them to the living room. “Keane, sweetie, would you and our idiot son who also happens to be your mate, please bring our guests something to drink?”

Korra followed, her eyes searching the room. I reached the desk and began rifling through the drawers. Nothing but paperwork and office supplies. Korra's presence was a constant distraction, though I tried to focus. “There has to be something here dammit.” I muttered, pulling out drawer after drawer, only to be met with disappointment. Korra walked towards the bookshelf, running her fingers along the line of books. She was probably searching for any signs of a hidden compartment. “There’s nothing.” she muttered, frustration evident in her voice.

Some claim a hunter followed her trail. Her hands went cold, and Kael stiffened beside her. “Korra,” he whispered, “this… this sounds like…” “Like she was hunted.” The room seemed to tilt slightly. She held the edge of the book, breathing slowly. Kael placed a hand on her back. “You don’t have to read more now. We can stop.” But Korra shook her head. “No. I need to know.” She turned the page. This time, instead of names or dates, a dried piece of parchment had been tucked between pages; it was old, brittle, and sealed with a silver crest wax stamp.
