Before I could blink, Ryuji’s hand lifted the blade—and brought it down in a single, clean arc.
Delilah’s scream never came. Her head hit the ground before her body slumped forward, blood spilling across the tatami mats. It painted the floor in a red so bright, it burned.
I didn’t flinch. I stood rooted, blood splattered over my face, a line of crimson cutting across my collarbone.
Ryuji exhaled deeply, chest heaving, before handing the sword back to Kenta.
“That’s for my son, you lying bitch,” he said in Japanese.
He turned to his gathered guards, the blood soaking into the fabric of his white mourning robe as if it belonged there.
