La Venganza Es Dulce Novels & Stories

The call ended. Ava stared at the black screen, nails digging into her palms until her eyes burned. She knew she was in trouble. Not because of the money, or her mother’s life. But because in that moment, when Landon had pressed her against the glass, forcing her to watch New York burn beneath her, she had tasted the sweetness of revenge. And the sweetness of being utterly possessed. Terrifyingly, she wanted to taste it again. Dawn broke, pale as a fish's belly. Ava threw the phone into the trash. She lit a new cigarette and this time, she inhaled deeply.

It all came back to me in a flash — the betrayal, the humiliation, my death. Right in cue, Larisa walked in my direction with a glass in her hand. “Ah, the forbidden fruit had arrived,” I smirked. With my memory intact and my resolve sharpened by hatred, I was ready for revenge. “You won't win,” I smirked. “Not this time, dear sister.”

He walked towards me but I immediately stepped backwards as well to avoid him. ''Don't go near me, Arthur. Please, I am telling you.'' I warned him as my voice slowly cracked. I swallowed hard but it was too late when he gently grabbed my hands and started pulling me somewhere. But instead of recalling and remembering all the things that happened between us it feels like I am home again and it causes me to forget all the pain just because of his touch. It feels like the warm of his touch is giving me peace. I closed my eyes tightly and let him do all the things he wanted to do to me.

A sly grin split across her blood-red painted lips when the sentence finally sunk in. “We have a deal, Julian,” she raised a glass filled to the brim with some form of fruity cocktail and tipped the edge against his own, as a symbol of her agreement. “Excellent,” his burning crimson irises shone brightly as he too allowed a Cheshire smile to expose his glinting fangs. The desperate need for vengeance after a complete and total humiliation would soon become Vanessa’s downfall.

I basked in the memory, the taste of sweet revenge lingering on my tongue. Marcellus, the golden boy, the perfect heir. Always the favorite, always the one who had everything handed to him on a silver platter. While I, the second son, had been relegated to the shadows, forced to claw my way to the top, to prove my worth in a world that had always seen me as an afterthought. But no more. After All, he knew this day would come. I had taken what was precious to Marcellus, his mate, his soul. And now, I would watch his brother suffer, would witness the slow, agonizing descent into despair. It was a delicious form of retribution, a slow, agonizing torture that would last a lifetime.

I was overcome with a profound sensation of pleasure. I had carried a deep-seated yearning for vengeance against people who had harmed me for years. My preparations were beginning to pay off today, and I could finally taste delicious revenge. With a smile on my face, I settled on my bed. I am so happy that one of the people that ruined my pack and was responsible for my parents has met his doom.

She grinned and rolled her eyes. “Revenge is bullshit, Miss who you are...” The four stared at her because of what she said. “What? It’s true that revenge is nonsense.” “What brings you here? You can go home now,” Angelo said. “All I can say is that revenge is a load of nonsense and a waste of time, but I’m not saying that money is a waste of time. Don’t worry, I’ll assist you and you’ll compensate me. I am reasonable and not a traitor... So, who exactly are you? Our leader?” She fixed her gaze on me.

Because soon, everything she built would fall apart. And when it did, I would be there, standing, smiling. Or maybe just cackling in the shadows. Revenge, after all, is sweetest when served cold. And victory? That should be the loud, blazing comeback.

“Wait. Let me understand this clearly. You went there for revenge. Revenge, Evelyn. Capital R. And now you’re standing nose to nose with the same man you swore to destroy.” “It was a moment,” I snapped. “A stupid moment.” She leaned closer. “Moments don’t make your voice shake like that.” I folded my arms. “You’re enjoying this too much.” “Of course I am,” she said cheerfully. “You disappear for years, come back with vengeance in your eyes, and now you’re melting because of one man’s jawline.” “It wasn’t his jawline.” “Oh?” Her brows lifted. “Then what was it? His perfect sculpted abs!"

It's funny how my life has turned upside down, not like it was ever better, but I'll endure all the pain in this world if it means I get to have my revenge. This is were my revenge starts. Vicenzo De Luca, you won't know what hit you I promise. I'll pay you back tenfold for everything you put me and my mother through.
