I should’ve brought a sweater, but I wasn’t planning on staying so late. The tide has come in. The river that feeds the lagoon flows too strongly now to swim across. On the other side of the river, a bridge spans over the lagoon to connect the beach with the island. Another bridge at the back of the island leads to the main road that runs to town. A ninety-degree bend on the right diverts to the beachfront. Our mansion stands on the highest hill at the end of that road, right on the edge, overlooking the massive dunes and a stretch of sand so long you can see Himamaylan in the north and Dancalan Bay in the south.

When I checked my wardrobe, I found new clothes hanging in it, and my lips curled into a smile. By dusk, he told me to get dressed. When I was done, he looked me over, nodded, and motioned for me to get into the car, which I did. He drove slowly, and I looked around, taking in the view—the trees, the road signs, and the green mountains. But what truly caught my eye was the artificial lake in front of the towers. My mouth fell open in awe. I had never realized just how marvelous the sight was until now. I sighed, wondering how they had managed to build all of it. It was truly amazing.

The Cradle of Salt The island appeared just after the sixth dusk. One moment, only open water. The next, it was there—rising like a wound from the sea, slick with salt and brine-colored mist. No birds circled it. No current touched its shores. The ocean recoiled from it. It was shaped like a cradle. A crescent of jagged stone, rising in two horn-like peaks, cradling a shallow lagoon at its center. Inside that still water, nothing moved. No fish. No driftwood. No life.

I sat down on a large rock and just stared at the lake I now owned. Leslie told me that it was named Lunar Lake and that there is a waterfall on the opposite side. There is a small mountain as well, with cliffs that hang over the lake. I wondered if I could get a jet ski and have some fun on the lake or just get a small boat to take out to the middle and do some fishing.

After breakfast, Deon took Debby to the Valley of Waves. Since she was born and bred in Johannesburg, she had never been to the beach before, she was so excited. She heard about the Roaring Lagoon, a wave pool with hydraulic mechanisms that generate waves of nearly two metres high every ninety seconds. She was looking forward to seeing the waves. Deon bought her a beautiful swimming costume. It showed her curvaceous body, she had a stunning figure. Deon was cursing himself for buying the swimming costume.

I turned to Izan excitedly, and he just smiled, a gleam of satisfaction in his eye. We sat on a smooth rock by the shore, listening to the gentle lapping of the water and birdsong echoing in the stillness. “That's awesome,” I said in disbelief. “The waterfall was a divine thing... But this is something far more amazing. I have no words to describe what my eyes see.” “It's the Blessed Lagoon,” said Izan. “That's what the Alpha and Moon, who discovered it, christened it.” I smiled with amusement. “It must have been a magnificent thing for them,” I said as I imagined the scene. “This place is like an Eden on earth.”

He remains silent, his eyes not leaving mine until he starts to laugh. “You think I will make a deal with you, Zachary? My wife is Luna, one after the moon goddess’s heart. She can give me all the cure I want in the world and you think I will settle for you? Come on man, I thought you were smarter than that. Well” he gestures to my hand where a wound is still bleeding, “you might want to check that, it’s not going to heal. Ir is coated with silver” “What?” “Do not show up at my party uninvited Zachary, do not come in front of my wife and do not even think about her”

But amidst the joy, a somber tale unfolded. Brent and Lyra arrived on the island, eager to start their scuba diving adventure. In their beach buggy, they arrived at the luxury private bungalow, Lyra's eyes widened in awe. The secluded bungalow was surrounded by lush greenery and overlooked a crystal-clear lagoon, perfect for honeymooners seeking privacy and romance. The sound of waves gently lapping against the shore created a soothing melody, setting the tone for a relaxing and intimate getaway.

“But, me, a Luna?” She furrowed her eyebrows and looked at me worriedly. “I don’t know if I could do it.” Amy said quietly. “What if he found his mate? What if I took someone’s place? What if I were a terrible Luna?” I reached out and took her hand in mine. “You would be an amazing Luna, Amy.” I said softly. “You are kind and loving, and that’s the most important thing.” “My brother is almost thirty.” Daisy added. “I don’t think that he will ever find his mate. We talked about it a lot, and he thinks that she died before they met.”

I drew closer and found a woman seated by the poolside. She was very beautiful, her skin was as fair and it glistened while her hair was as bright and silvery as the moonlight, she wore a Silk robe and exuded an undeniably warm and eerie aura. "Come," her voice sounded like still waters as beckoned on me with an outstretched arm that called directly to my soul. I knew her. "Child," she called me and my inner instincts told me I was indeed her child, my time as Luna already familiarised me with the description of Selene so I could not Miss her.
