Then I closed my eyes and opened the mind-link, sending my command through every bond.
“All members of the Lunar Lake pack, hear me. Your Luna carries our future. A child of this pack. You will show her honor and protection, always.”
The link rippled with shock, then joy, then pride. I cut it off before questions could flood back.
Kate swayed, her breathing uneven. The sudden growth had taxed her, left her body struggling to catch up. I pulled her into my arms.
“We’re going to the doctor,” I said firmly. “Now. I’m not risking you or the baby.” She tried to argue, but one look at my face stopped her.
