Lana Reyes I brush a strand of hair out of my face and stare down the mirror like it owes me something. The girl looking back is tired, sure. But she’s also sharp. Hard where it matters. Unmoved. “I’m Lana Reyes. Twenty-three. NYU law student.” I say it under my breath like a spell. A shield. Because once I step out of this locker room, it’s game time. I really adore this face of yours… “If I were a young lady right now, I would have used your face as a reference and do plastic surgery to look exactly like it,” Lana added. She adored Xyla because one, Xyla had saved her life, and two because Xyla was too gorgeous. Looking at this face gave her comfort. Lana was wearing a crimson sleeveless tight-fitting knee-length dress, accentuating her exquisite figure. Although she was over forty years old, there was not a single wrinkle on her face.

I asked realizing that she was referring to me. “Yes” she nodded and gave me a polite smile. No one in the pack has ever called me that, even though I was introduced as the future Luna to the pack members, nothing was verified and after yesterday, I am certain that it would never be spoken off again. “Your breakfast will be ready in an hour but before that, I will like to get your measurements for that we can prepare your gown for the Luna ceremony” I almost burst out laughing. “There is no Luna ceremony, I am not the Luna” I answered.

She was beautiful, but she lacked the effortless allure of Bella. Just as Lorna was sitting, the soft sound of Bella's stilettos made everyone look toward her. Her strapless turquoise dress encased her breasts to perfection. Her long, honey-blond hair cascaded in soft curls down her back. She really didn't need much makeup, and she had only used lip gloss. I said as I pulled her chair for her to sit down. "Good evening." She said as everyone else did as well

Then I see her smile. “Shit it’s her and she is walking over,” I see her register my face and walk over. “Mrs. Cameron, how nice to see you,” she smiles a fake smile. “Lana I can’t believe you are here and still human?” I am shock that Todd would be this dumb. “Twenty-five, Yale, Wolf International? Try 18 high school only and never worked a day in your life,” Lana snarls at me.

I can’t shake the feeling that there is more going on behind the scenes than I know. I move to the dish station, surprised when Lana nudges my shoulder. She is a black-haired beauty with a sense of sarcasm that only a few people understand. “Don’t look now, but Bobby is checking you out from his station. He almost cut his finger off a minute ago, too caught up in admiring your silver hair from afar. Oh, how I would love to be pretty like you.” I blush. “You are pretty,” it’s true. Lana is gorgeous, even though she doesn’t see it herself. “And don’t get my hopes up. Bobby isn’t even looking at me.”

“We should rejoice, Kingdom of the Lycans! After a thousand years— the Goddess has chosen another Luna to save us from a catastrophe that the higher heavens bestowed!” Yulo’s announcement made the crowd roar in excitement and happiness about the new Luna.

"But you have Raya and Isabel to help you." Lana laughed, snatching the bowl from Camila before she started breaking some eggs into it. "Those two! Raya is probably still on her phone in the toilet she claimed to visit an hour ago. Isabel is always late. And where the hell is Carmen." Lana said before grabbing a chair and sitting on it, sighing deeply. "You four would be the death of me." She said tiredly and Camila rolled her eyes before she snapped them at me, I jumped at the sudden contact and she raised her brow.

While the invitation remained open, she was still unsure if she would actually attend it. She had a few things to keep in mind if she was going to attend, first, she might get herself exposed publicly, though she would be coming in as Naya, she still felt like someone might recognize her.
