Lana said smiling at me. “But… But, why should it be me? Can’t you just call them?” I ask out of curiosity. “Well I can’t, ‘khalaos’ only listens to the call of humans and not to another mystical creatures like me. Plus, they will surely listen to you since you are still pure of soul.” Lana said as she looks at the wall in front of us. I look at her confuse and I look at the open door she opens widely where I can see the dark forest outside the town walls.

I felt Lana's arm brush against mine as we walked in companionable silence. "How come you don't come home over the winter break?" I asked her. "I know someone at Dalton and she goes home every chance she gets." Lana sighed loudly, her step faltering slightly before she stopped walking entirely and turned to face me. "I have a secret…" She started off slowly, as if she was contemplating whether to tell me something. Suddenly she crossed the road to the fenced in dog park and let Bella off her leash, throwing a ball we had brought with us before she sat down under a tree. I shook my head in confusion before I joined her, letting Milo join his mate.

All stood outside of the cave looking at it. "Don't get scared there are two Dragons inside it. If you show them your locket they won't attack you." Lana told Stella and she nodded in an understanding way. "Okay, I'm ready," Stella said confidently but from inside she was shaking badly. Lana said, picking up a basket and heading down the aisle. The women shopped some more, giggling at nothing in particular and picking up ingredients to make a fresh pesto, along with some bread and a couple bottles of wine. As they walked back to Lana's place loaded down with their loot, she couldn’t stop smiling. She had thoroughly enjoyed herself. She had so missed the companionship of another female. Xyrus was great, but Tina brought something else to her life. As they walked up the stairs to her apartment, Lana got a sudden icy chill down her spine. She stopped walking and turned around, her eyes scanning the parking lot, looking for Danny.
