He's sizing up Cyrus when I turn around. I get that Landon is going to be protective, I mean I'm his best friend. But if Landon is going to death stare Cyrus for the rest of eternity, I'm not sure this is going to work. Cyrus seems nervous, as he picks up the basket he had set down to hug me. He nods his head at Landon as a form of respect. For a moment I'm confused, till I realise that we are in the presence of an Alpha, even if it doesn't feel like it.

"We used to do this all the time on the front lines. Not just me—all the scouts. We had to cross snowy peaks to flank the enemy; I've got plenty of experience with this." He scooted toward the edge of the drop and looked back at her. "Give me a shove. I'll go down and check the landing." "But Lance," Adelaide said, peering nervously over the edge into the endless white void, "if you pick up too much speed and can't stop, you're just going to tumble." Lance tapped his chest, oozing confidence. "Don't sweat it. Even if I lose my footing, I'll just tuck and roll to stabilize. I'll land just fine."

The Luna was visibly shaking and trying to hold back her emotions. Her whole demeanor changed as soon as a man came closer to her. He was very tall and broad with wavy brown hair and green eyes and although he wore a tux, he still let his hair down and didn't shave his 5 o'clock shadow. Lander was behind him in no time, Ella heading in the opposite direction to look for Grace. It was impossible not to notice the calm that enveloped the warrior whenever he was around his mate. Not that long ago, Lander was a powder keg just looking for an open flame. He’d pretended to be an iron control, but James knew him longer than any of the others at the compound, and he knew that Lander had been only a few steps away from total disaster. Lander may be as old as time, but the man was still as powerful as before.

Everleigh followed their gazes and froze. Alice and Lander emerged from the edge of the trees, their presence an unwelcome intrusion. Alice looked disheveled but determined, her sharp gaze scanning the crowd. Lander, however, seemed painfully out of place. His steps faltered slightly under the weight of countless hostile stares. The tension was palpable as wolves bristled at the sight of a male human in their sacred playground.

"Lancaster told her his entire plan. He also gave her the history of his life before you came to kill him the first time. He's not working directly with the Hybrids. They're only pawns in his game. It's the witches." Damn it. This makes perfect sense. The Hybrids have always been a peaceful race. We never had any issues with them before. But those witches? They've been trouble from the start. "Alright Nadia. Let me get cleaned up and changed and we'll meet with my army in the study in thirty minutes." She nods and turns away while I slam the door in frustration. The Hybrids weren't the only pawns. Lancaster was too. I wander into the shower room and turn the water on to the hottest setting.

He lowered himself carefully to the floor like someone stepping into foreign territory, his expression completely unreadable. Tamera immediately handed him a toy knight. “You’re this one.” Ragnar stared at it. “I see.” “And you protect the princess.” Ragnar glanced briefly at Lance. Lance raised his hands. “Don’t look at me. I didn’t write the script.” Tamera pointed to Lance. “He’s the dinosaur.” “Correction,” Lance said proudly. “I’m the heroic dinosaur.” Ragnar remained silent for a moment, holding the tiny plastic knight between his fingers like he wasn’t entirely sure what to do with it.

Said Cornelio. He walks to the Landcaster and pulled one Plasma Blade. “In order to quickly defeat Landcaster, you need to deliver attack on their weakness, the skin folds.” Said Cornelio. Cornelio pointing skin folds on Landcaster’s body with his blade. “If you land attack on this spot …” Cornelio swing his blade on skin fold behind Landcaster head, and he successfully cut off it’s head in single hit. “… Even their body is hard as rock, you can easily defeat it.” Said Cornelio.
