Bound By A Borrowed Heart
I grab my phone and call Laurel at 3 AM because when your borrowed heart is trying to escape your chest, you call your cardiologist.
"Something's wrong with the heart," I say the second she picks up. "It won't slow down. I think it's rejecting. I'm flushed, my pulse is through the roof, and there's.. there's heat everywhere.."
"Where's the heat?" Laurel's voice is groggy but professional.
"Everywhere. My face, my chest, and my lower."
She goes silent for almost a minute before she starts "Gianna," Laurel says slowly, "are you telling me you had an erotic dream?"
