The room was far too large.
Rosemary stood perfectly still in the centre of the massive, cream-colored rug, her raw, red fingers clutching the edges of the heavy fleece blanket as if it were the only solid thing left in the universe. Everywhere she looked, there was absolute magnificence. The high, carved ceilings stretched into the darkness, the rich velvet curtains pooled elegantly on the polished floorboards, and a grand stone fireplace crackled with a warm, golden fire that chased away the midnight chill.
