Marie let out a scream. I plunged in, my fingers grazing the Relic, a cool, polished stone carved with old runes. My palm seared with anguish the instant I touched it. My head exploded with visions: Chanting over a bloody altar by a dark figure. Werewolves and lycans are tearing one other apart. As the world burnt, I saw a lady with my face holding the Relic. "No!" With a gasp, I withdrew my hand. The Relic's light dimmed as it rolled into the bush.
