Olivia had to make it to the pulse car because it was the only way to escape from the facility. The pulse car was how Olivia, Lukas, and the Death Row Infantry-man she killed arrived at the space station. Walking down a dark space station tunnel that seemed like it would never end had a haunting effect. Olivia felt like she was walking the length of a football field. Lukas looked around the dark tunnel, remembering how scared he would get whenever a power outage would occur at his home. It was as if they were waiting for us all to wake before they began the attack. I was just preparing myself to run when Lucas grabbed my hand. "Run for your lives!" On the way I messaged my contact from my pack, Hannah, to tell her I had left. In the taxi, I actually felt relieved that he had insisted that the wedding be small, and I did not even tell my clan he had asked me to become his mate. This saved me from dealing with the disgrace of running away. As I entered the airport, I decided to call Alex. I felt I owed him at least that much—to tell him our bond was over. He never picked up the call but sent me an angry voice message back. "Just get to my pack; the Oracle is waiting. Something happened to Elsa, so I will be a bit late. Why are you acting as though I will be running away?"

“Can you run?” Just then, the drones regroup with a mechanical whine. “Do I have a choice? Can’t stand these drones watching me.” He kicks a hidden panel in the wall, opening an escape tunnel. “ That useless bastard, Jace, discovered this escape route. Follow me.” We step into darkness just as three more drones crash through the windows. Their red lights chase and point at our shadows. At the same time, Gideon runs with me at his side. Jace's unconscious head bounces against Gideon's back, and his body lies lifeless on Gideon's shoulder.

Chapter 27 – Escape & Ecstasy Sera’s POV The warehouse loomed ahead, a monstrous silhouette against the moonlit sky. My fingers tightened around the steering wheel as adrenaline coursed through my veins. Raven was inside—Ethan had taken her, and I was here to get her back. The location I had stolen from Ethan’s phone led me to this industrial hellhole, a place meant to keep people hidden. But Ethan underestimated me. He thought I was weak, caged, just his obedient little wife.
