By the time they reached the pier, lightning cracked open the sky. The sea burned white for a heartbeat, then plunged back into blackness.
At the end of the pier stood an old transmitter tower — rusted, dead, long abandoned. But as they approached, its lights flickered on.
Dante swore under his breath. “He’s using it.”
Aiden nodded weakly. “It’s his anchor point. The last fragment he left behind.”
