Atlas’ POV “Luna Onyx, good morning.” One of my wolves greeted the woman that damn near took my breath away everytime our eyes met as she walked beside me through the halls. That title sounded so good, and I would never get tired of hearing it knowing the meaning behind it.

I asked with another threatening yell, and she was visibly shaken. “I’m Layla..Layla, Layla Luther,” she stuttered and I frowned. What was the moon goddess trying to do? No way a Lutheran could be my mate.

“Good girl. It will make you stronger.” The child leaned against her, eyelids growing heavy. “Mommy… do you think the moon dreams are bad?” Lyra hesitated, brushing a lock of dark hair from Isla’s face. “No, my love. Dreams can’t hurt you. They just mean the moon is watching over you.” But in her heart, fear twisted like a blade. The moon did not simply watch. It remembered. When Isla finally fell asleep, Lyra sat alone by the window, staring out at the silver light washing over the snow. Her hands trembled as she rested them on the wooden sill.

When I finally step into the hallway, the whispers return, softer this time but heavier. “She’s cursed.” “The rulers marked her. She won’t last the week.” “The curse of the Moon is already taking hold.” I clutch the edge of my apron and walk faster, ignoring the chill that slides down my spine. Because deep down, I know they’re right. Something inside me is changing. My dreams have been darker, filled with whispers I can’t understand and glowing chains that pulse beneath my skin. And every time one of them—Kaelen, Valrik, or Caelir—gets too close…the mark on my throat burns hotter.

The deeper they went, the colder the air became. Dust floated through the narrow beams of light. Rows of towering shelves appeared in the darkness below—filled with scrolls older than kingdoms. Secrets forgotten by the world. If answers about the mysterious moon existed… They would be hidden here. Lyra walked between the towering shelves slowly. Her mark pulsed again. And somewhere deep in the library… something shifted in the shadows. Unseen. Watching. Waiting. The Thirteenth Moon had risen. And its story had only just begun. 🌙

A murmur rippled through the chamber. “The priestesses say Luna is testing us,” another elder said. “That the girl is a vessel—” “She is not a vessel,” I cut in. Silence fell. Elder Cian’s gaze sharpened. “Then what is she, Alpha?” I didn’t answer. Because the truth had begun to settle in my bones, heavy and unwelcome. Lyra was not channeling the moon. The moon was responding to her. LYRA The light wouldn’t let me sleep.

With James gone, this section of the web was fraying. “Push!” I roared, my voice cutting through the din. Crescent Moon surged forward. Forest Lake answered. The line advanced three paces in unison, boots and paws tearing up blood-soaked ground. Kayla lifted both hands, palms outward, and the earth responded. A jagged ridge erupted along our flank, splitting the battlefield and forcing the hybrids into a narrower front. It was a simple move that showed how much she’d learned since she left Blood Moon, how much she’d grown.

And the silver light came to my hands without being asked, warm and certain and entirely ready. "Yes," I said. "Let us." Outside the Moonveil window the morning was clear and bright and the world was waiting. And Lyra Collins, Luna of Moonveil, daughter of Cole and Eliana, mate of Thorian Blackthorn, was done waiting for it. She was ready to build.

Liam walked close to her, a smirk on his face. He was just as eager as she was to see Lily dethroned.
