Fae answered with a concerned expression. “He’s missing”. “Missing?” Leo repeated. “He was patrolling just outside of the camp last night. But this morning when I was supposed to take over, he was nowhere to be seen”. “Shit!” I exhaled, and my mind only thought of one thing. “Leo, tell Caleb. I’m going to Clemonte”. I instructed him as I nodded for the guards to open the border gate. “Be careful”. He replied before turning away and dashing toward the palace.

"Leah… I won't let you go. No one knows about this place. You'll stay here. Once you give me a child, then I'll let you out. When we have a baby together, you won't be able to watch me lose everything." Rage shook through me. "You're insane." He showed not a shred of sympathy. His hands tore at my clothes, rough and desperate. Just as he was about to force himself on me, the door burst open with a violent kick. Gordon rushed in with a team of police behind him. "Adrian Reese," one officer barked, "you are under arrest for kidnapping and attempted assault of Leah Madison. Come with us to the station—now."

Her phone buzzed before dawn: EMERGENCY: Leah’s missing. Alina’s stomach dropped. Leah — the same quiet girl from her first mentorship session — had stopped answering calls, skipped meetings, left her apartment dark and silent. Within hours, Alina was at the police station with Sophie and Elise. The officers were patient but firm. “We can’t list her as missing until twenty-four hours have passed,” one said. Elise pressed her lips together. “She’s a survivor. Twenty-four hours is too long.”

There had not been a single bank transaction since her disappearance. Snow thought it was strange. She told Arthur to dig deeper. Leah was last seen in the Northborn Group. She did not get into a car. She traveled on foot by herself. Snow believed Leah did not think straight for wandering off. She should know better than to prance around without security. At least, Snow would not be caught alone. Arthur tapped into his connections to find out about the recent event. It would take some time to gather surveillance footage. All they had to do now was wait.

He didn't wake her up, but took out a blanket from the side and covered her with it, while also adjusting the seat backwards. Just as I finished these, my phone rang. It was a call from the mental hospital, saying that Leah had gone missing. Randy furrowed his brow, got off the car to answer the phone so as not to disturb Lena. "How could a perfectly fine person go missing?" Just as I finished saying this, my phone displayed an incoming call, and it happened to be from Leah. He first hung up the phone from the mental hospital and answered Leah's call, sounding a bit cold.

"I knew Daddy was still alive! Daddy has said that he would always look after me and Robert. Previously, when he split up with Mommy, I wanted to take Robert to live with Mommy. He said he would not let Robert and I leave him. He said that he would raise me and Robert. Robert is still so young. How could he die?" Layla was so excited that her eyes grew red. She choked up too. "Layla, don't cry! We'll go back and give Daddy a video call!" Robert, who was in a child's safety seat, looked at Layla, who was sitting in the front passenger seat. "Hmm!" Layla wiped away her tears. "I'll call Uncle George to see if he found Ms. Kennedy yet." … When Leah came out of the fruit shop, someone tapped on
