Lucian came over to stare at the image on the screen, his eyes widened because the person on the screen was Clarissa. "I WANT HER TO BE MY MUMMY!" He said adamantly with no hopes of anyone changing his mind.

Clarissa looked around afterwards, eyes scanning the condo like she would rather enjoy the sight of the interiors than talk to Scarlet. Then, her eyes caught the framed photo on the table. It was of Scarlet and a little girl who she remembered so well. But there was no Lucas in the photo. Still, the sight of the photo sent a burst of jealousy through Clarissa which she managed to bottle up so well. Scarlet followed her gaze. “Beautiful, isn’t she? That’s Lily. Our daughter.” Clarissa’s eyes darted from the picture, still not replying to her. Scarlet kept going. “Lucas loves her and she looks so much like him. You’d be surprised.”

“Yes, Father.” After Vincent left, Clarisse finally collapsed into a sitting position, her hands trembling. Adrian had successfully lured her back into the narrow corner that was slowly killing her. “Bastard...” she muttered. “I’ll finish him off. I swear.” That was when her cell phone rang. Unknown number. No name. She opened the message. “Attack before you are attacked.” “Kill Adrian’s confidence.” Lysander. Clarisse swallowed. Clarisse’s face tensed, her pupils narrowing like a predator that had just received hunting instructions.

Clarice said and scanned through the document until her eyes became like slits, and anger was seen on her face. “Only a hundred million? This is outrageous; how dare he. If I had known this from the start, I would have killed you sooner.” Clarice spitted this sentence in rage but continued reading. When she got to her inheritance, all she read made her fume even more. “For Clarice Elon, the honor of being an Elon? ____The honor of being an Elon?____ Honor?____ You old bastard, I will show you the honor of being an Elon. Honor my ass!”

Lucy took a seat next to her and smiled. “I will do whatever I want.” Clara muttered as she sipped out of her glass of wine. “Just try to enjoy this. Look, your kids are happy.” Lucy said. Clara looked at them, they were watching the entertainers with a wide smile. “Whatever.” She muttered. “By the way, I haven't seen Dexter around.” Lucy said and Clara looked at her. She read her expression and chuckled in disbelief. “You like Dexter.” Clara said. Lucy gasped dramatically and laughed nervously.

I didn’t know if he noticed. An Elder stepped forward before the final election speeches began. She wasn’t one of ours. Not aligned, not friendly, but not a stranger either. Clarisse.
