Lena's POV. My life had always been controlled every day. Elaine and her daughters starved me, threw insults at me, and constantly reminded me of how less of a human I was. She was furious, gritting her teeth as she charged at me. “Answer me!” She snapped, smacking my ears with a hard slap that made them ring a low tune. “How dare you touch her?
